In 1939 two German immigrants, Francis Wolff and Alfred Lion, founded Blue Note Records. The label was home to many jazz greats such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins. 'Blue Note' tells the story of these two men's passion and vision in creating probably the most iconic record label in jazz.
